    Position:Principle Analytical Chemist


    Job Responsibilities:


    With minimum or no supervision, develop GC and HPLC methods for final product and intermediates to support process research and development.Chiral separation experience is a plus.

    Maintain and calibrate analytical instrumentation as needed; write SOP and other documents.

    Provide accurate and reliable analytical data results and records. Ensure all laboratory operations and record keeping are of high quality and in compliance with the GLP standards when applicable or other applicable regulations.

    Develop and maintain good communication with FMC internal personnel.

    Provide the technical expertise and knowledge of analytical chemistry;
    Qualifications:
    Required Experience: demonstrated ability to perform new analytical method development; excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to prepare detailed research reports, other experience includes the following:


    Ability to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) and English.


    Two years of related work experience.

    Strong analytical chemistry background.

    Broad experience and demonstrated knowledge in method development, HPLC, GC quantification, troubleshooting, analytical software, SOP and documentation.

    Familiarity with NMR, IR and LC/MC, Hands-on experience with LC/MS a plus.

     


    Position:Chemist
    Job Description
    Depending on the group (Analytical, Microbiological, Dissolution, Preformulation, Formulation Development, Physical Testing) responsibilities can include but are not limited to the following:
    •  Chemical & physical analysis for many different classifications of samples
    •  Maintain and peer-review documentation such as laboratory notebooks, electronic data collection/storage software, instrument logbooks, training records, etc.
    •  Investigation of unusual / unacceptable results
    •  Routine maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting for analytical equipment
    •  Method development and validation (rigorous testing of the methods to ensure that they are precise, accurate, reproducible, "fool-proof", specific for your product, etc.)
    •  Write/review detailed documents explaining work you have done, the results, what they mean in terms of product stability, potency
    •  Develop formulas for new products or for re-formulations
    •  Make prototypes of new products for physical & chemical analysis
    •  Evaluate physical & chemical compatibility of drug substances with other ingredients
    •  Determine preservative efficacy (will certain ingredients prevent microbial growth)
    •  Serve on committees to constantly improve laboratory procedures relating to "Good Manufacturing Practices" (GMPs), safety, metrology (ensures instruments and equipment are calibrated and OK for use), etc.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING THEORY, PRINCIPLES, PRACTICES AND/OR CONTENT:


    •  laboratory techniques and safety practices
    •  testing and/or examination methodologies
    •  principles, theories, and practices of microbiology
    •  principles, theories, and practices of chemistry such as composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, etc.

    SKILLS / ABILITY TO:
    •  use scientific methods to solve problems
    •  use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions
    •  identify and apply appropriate safety intervention techniques
    •  communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing
    •  Enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in either written or electronic form.
    •  compose and produce reports, documents and related material
    •  evaluate information against a set of standards
    •  review and/or edit documents for accuracy and completeness
    •  make a decision or solve a problem by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions
    •  use scientific instruments and equipment
    •  read and interpret data from scientific instruments or equipment
    •  develop and/or implement new policies/procedures/standards and/or rules/regulations
    •  ensure compliance with contract terms, policies and procedures, etc.
